That IRAP money would go to fixing a lot of bad track in there. As far as PAR not pursuing produce traffic, most of it dried up under CSX. Some of the NEP terminal was sold, razed for an Amazon warehouse. Interestingly enough, CSX/Mass Coastal is getting a lot of reefer traffic (PNW fish) into New B...

Several years ago (around 2017-18) CSX cut a deal with PAR that resulted in PAR getting all the traffic in Everett (Schintzer, cement, NEP). There is very little
produce traffic these days, if any. Scrap and cement are the two big commodities.

Don't know, but they were in storage in Rochester, brought to Abington, then trucked to Weymouth where the repaint/filming was done.
I tried to snoop around the Mass Film Commission webpage, but didn't find anything.

UTEX is an in-house program at BET. Nothing to do with Progress Rail.

The Fitchburg double track ended at South Acton, just east of the station. The "third" track at Lincoln was the "Middle Track", much like the one still
existing south of Ash Street in Reading.

Given the relationship that Mass Coastal/Cape Cod Central has with the MBTA/MDot, I think they would've snapped those units up (or even the ones that went to scrap). CCC is perfectly happy with the FL9s it has. They are somewhat of a "draw" down there, whereas the F40s...meh! And the noise...

As far as I know, they are still owned by the MBTA. Been for sale since the auction ended for the others. Cue the crickets. The photos on Ozarks' webpage are a few years old now, taken when the auction first surfaced. Would suspect they look even worse now. Even if they could get the MBTA to donate ...
