This is my first time trying to produce a burning building on my train layout; I bought the Miniatronics 100-101-01 simulated fire and flame from my hobby shop, brought it home and tested it, nothing happened, didn't light up or do anything. I returned it to the store and exchanged it. The exchanged...

"Mr. Fesen offered no reason other than to state the tracks belonged to Norfolk Southern and they can put their cars wherever they want." I love trains and I am an architect - potential homeowners, my advice to you is this: if you don't appreciate trains or don't want to look at or hear tr...

I li...

Re: SEPTA stops Service Guarantee on Regional Rail

SEPTA does not want to accept the responsibility of running the commuter railroad system like a railroad. This feels like a SEPTA attempt to push people from trains to buses.

PTC Ticket Puncher?

At a train show over the weekend I purchased a ticket puncher - one side of the punch has PTC stamped on it, the other side has Meith Mfg. with a New Jersey address, I have several questions about it. Obviously, I assume PTC is for Philadelphia Transportation Co., were there any other PTCs somewhere...

Who owns/maintains the catenary poles on the 25th Street viaduct? I know Amtrak owns the catenary over the long abandoned PRR Schuylkill Branch and maintains them, wondering if it is the same circumstance at 25th Street.

I bought a Marx #404 two light block signal at a train show last weekend, I am clueless how to wire it, I have never bought anything Marx before. I google search how to wire this signal, and it the diagrams call for the wiring of this to go through a blocked section of track with lockons plastic pin...

Having read the article and reviewing the proposed study, I find it hard to believe this study was released to the public at all. From a purely design perspective this seems absurdly difficult and outrageously expensive to build. As memory serves me, the existing Airport Line service by SEPTA was bu...

I'd love to see some pics of the bridge timbers being replaced. My work schedule does not allow me to get up to railfan like I once did. I thought Lakehurst was under CSAO's care.

I just purchased a Bachmann GP-35. It runs good enough, I have run it by itself to break it in a number of times. I have noticed when it gets o the top of the grade I have on my layout it stalls out and the wheels spin but the unit doesnt move. When I have it on any of the other 3 mains track on my ...

I read an article about a new potential PATCO proposal that indicates this tunnel was originally conceived by the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines railroad. Is there any substance to this statement?

Was the PRSL a holding company for South Jersey rail assets

I have always been confused about the corporate structure of the PRSL. When PRSL was formed in 1933, was it a true merger of the Atlantic City Railroad with the West Jersey and Seashore RR creating a new singular unified system or was the PRSL a holding company for the infrastructure and assets of t...

If you travel via Claymont don't park in the lot, park on the Gov. Printz Blvd. Side. I lived in the area for about a year, the parking on that side is not controlled like the lot is and is often used by local residents to park their cars.
