Benny,

Yes; still alive, but lots going on.

That hasn't stopped me from enjoying the posts you've been putting together.

The ETR 401 (and 450) are very good looking railcars.

Always nice when a plan comes together.

This is typically called the Spanish Solution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_solution.

Building extra platforms, particularly underground, is expensive, which is probably why there are relatively few of them.

Ah. They are probably for parts, but not for the double ended ones. Those are EMDs.

My guess is they're for the GEs up in the mountains.

Is it weird that I prefer the blunt-end version?

Any sign of the new C40-8Ws?

Beautiful sets, but I can see why there would be worries about blind spots from the cab!

There are some EMUs in Japan in a similar configuration.

Hope we see the restored unit soon!

Thanks!

Indeed, they do have an American interurban appearance. I think it's the proportion of height to width and the front window arrangement.

They're nice looking cars (says an American...)

Built like tanks!

They have the same front window styling as many of the boxy early electrics.

Wow. Less than two years old, and no parts support.

Seems like they're just ripping up all the contracts.
