Made my first visit to Ridgway a few days ago. What railroads operate the active rails? There are active rails on the east side of the Clarion River (which, since the sign at the depot says Pennsylvania RR, I assume it used to be the PRR, but who operates trains on the rails now? Same question for t...

According to the 1926 Official Guide, there was no International Railway stop in North Tonawanda at East Felton. Stops in NTon were Goundry St., Schenk St., Lockport Transfer Jct and Ward Road. The Ward Road crossing is not far from Felton or East Felton Streets. The "Buffalo and Lockport Divis...

Interesting. I may have to go up to North Tonawanda and Model City and get my own photos. The Model City station would probably be better photographed when the leaves fall. Regarding the International Railway station in North Tonawanda, it doesn't seem to be where the RR right of way is located, if ...

Are there any active customers west of the "West Yard"? Why does CSX even need the "West Yard" anymore?

There are forty trestle bridges, from one to five or more spans, between Attica and Arcade.
This is a shock. The current railroad between Arcade and North Java has only two bridges. Where were the 40 trestles back in 1885?

G-Macs looks like a relatively new structure (see photo 2), and I looked at it carefully because it does indeed look like it might have been station at one time. Furthermore there is no existing station in Sanborn listed at http://ny.existingstations.com/w/index.php/Existing_Railroad_Stations_in_New...

So, essentially, the SPV Atlas is plain old wrong when it identifies this trackage as DLWR.

Oh that DLW! THANKS!

The SPV Atlas lists this trackage as formerly Delaware, Lackawanna and Western and formerly New York Central. Is this a mistake, or did DLW own it at some time?

Was there a station in Sanborn? If so, approximately where was it?

I assume this trackage is used so CSX can connect to the Falls Road and Somerset Railroads. It appears to go from the Tuscarora Wye to Lockport. Some questions: Are there customers along the route? Or is it just used to connect to Falls Road and Somerset? (Is Somerset still running?) What is the nam...

Re: LVRR along I-90 Buffalo-ROW is being cleared

Well, that's roughly where I saw it. Looking at the map, you could have a trail that goes from the Buffalo River (no bridge there) south to Cazenovia Creek, and I'm not sure if that bridge is in usable condition.

In addition, if my memory was correct and it was in the vicinity of Cazenovia Creek, you couldn't put a trail there anyway unless the trail dead-ended at the LV bridge over the creek.

I too have seen the brush clearing on the old L&LE alongside I-90, but (I wasn't taking notes) I think it was in the vicinity of Cazenovia Creek, which would be well south of Medina and Hurd.
