Hurlock Days is fast approaching. 10/5 is this years date. I am not sure which locomotive will be used as #1203 is still down for repairs, so it coud be CF-7 #2630 or MDDE "Conrail Express painted" SW900 #801. I will be the conductor on the locomotive.

I will check my bible of Eastern Shore railroading tomorrow, Rails along the Chesapeake. However, this one doesn't sound familiar. It makes me wonder if this was a start up that failed to actually start up and was only a railroad on paper.

Just got word from a friend on FB that NS is inspecting three passenger cars (old dinner train?) on the DCL. They are to be interchanged out from Georgetown to NS in the near future. I think they are destined for rehab in Ohio but don't quote me on that. Word has it they are restenciled with new rep...

Oh, how I wish I wasn't working yesterday. I would have loved to see a train (even a GE -7) go over the swing bridge in Lewes. Anyway, here is a link to the move:

I follow several yahoo and facebook groups and have heard nothing to this effect. I would be highly skeptical of both power plants converting, especially with the economy right now. As far as the plant in Charles County, they recently (within the past 5-7 years) upgraded their pier to accomodate bar...

No, it shouldn't. This train, running as a 904, is as of 1000AM running down to Indian River. It will return to Harrington and almost immediately head north for the NEC. It was rumored to run all the way down to Pocomoke yesterday. I saw a Youtube of it going south through DE yesterday, possibly nea...

So, I was looking through Google maps and see covered hoppers spotted at Berry Plastics near Candlewood Road in Anne Arundel County. I have no idea when the satellite photo was taken, so I am curious if anybody gets back in there to see if they still use rail service. I haven't walked those rails in...

You better hurry and get some shots of Nevamar in Odenton, the last freight rail customer in that area. The buildings are steadily being torn down as we speak. I wonder what will happen to the CSX spur leading in to their old facility. The last train movement I saw take place in there was back in 20...

St. Denis in Relay (mapquest Relay, Maryland) is your best bet for safe railfanning. You can get some decent shots downtown by Ravens/Orioles Stadium too but access is tougher and the area isn't the best.

One minor correction, they run one hour past the end of a baseball game, unless their normal operating hours are later (like on Sundays).

What a shame! I never knew there was one in that area. I know of a CF7 on the eastern shore of MD that could have used its traction motors!

Did you get any pictures prior to the torch?

MDDE #801, former CR SW900, still has her Conrail Express markings and blue paint. She will also more then likely never be painted while owned by the MDDE.
