Looks like it averaged about 34 mph across the LV.
My vote is the place falls down on it's own before anyone will do anything about it.
This would have made for a dandy excursion line, with no other traffic to deal with. In theory, yes. In reality, there are already 7 excursions within a two hour radius of Lockport: 1. Medina RR Museum 2. Buffalo Cattaraugus & Jamestown Scenic Railway 3. New York & Lake Erie RR 4. Arcade &a...
While you might be able to convince someone to "sell" you some old creosoted RR ties to take home for your landscaping project, doing so is prohibited by the NYS DEC. See https://www.dec.ny.gov/chemical/42394.html Key section as it pertains to creosote railroad ties: "If the railroad...
Virtual Railfan shows Minnesota Commercial, former GB&W C424 313 stenciled ADIX and headed east.

By the way there is a monster pile of ties along Finger Lakes just west of Clifton Springs, maybe they'd let you have or buy some. Pile must be 150 feet long and 12 feet high. Dewey Rd at Lovers Lane.
Same car can be seen in the street view from 8/21. Looks like it was once a coal yard.
I wouldn't be sorry about it, if somebody is upset you clearly are on the money. Virtual Railfan's grab bag yesterday had three former S&NC coaches seen E/B on NS at Fostoria. Stainless steel cars with blue window bands, plus there was another car with them. I assume it's more Iowa Pacific asset...
FWIW, CSX is only operating Syracuse to Baldwinsville. Baldwinsville to Fulton is railbanked with crossings removed. Fulton to Oswego never belonged to CSX, Conrail sold it to Niagara Mohawk for their oil trains and it's since been sold a couple of times further, I don't know the name of the entity ...
Anybody know what happened to this car? NYS&W apparently picked it up in the early 80s and had it some time. It may have had a generator installed in the baggage end. I presume it was sold off with the rest of the excursion stuff around 2008 but where did it go? Rapido is doing these cars in HO,...
The list at the start of the thread pretty clearly lays out which show and where it is.
Then you have that group of SD60s NYS&W was leasing where the wreck replacement turned up with GMTX lettering I don't believe the others had, so it can be one way, the other, or both. But I would tend to believe OMID purchased the engine from WTNN. It appears the WTNN has gone all GE with a flee...
Pretty much it boils down to pull up your map application of choice and have it show you what's around and give you walking directions to each one.
