i dont think america is the only country where rail gets a raw deal by any means . In fact im struggling to think of a country where rail get s a good deal . i think the railroads and Amtrak should stop squabbling between each other , band together , and lobby for more federal money to improve track capacity / condition . National benefits would be doubled at least , if track improvements resulted in more competitive freight and passenger trains .

I was assuming that the canadian cars would bnot be alowed to run on the usa side of the border , and that they would connect with this new train . if were talking about this train struggling to survive , then i dont think a second overnite train is on the cards .

ovwrnite connecting train to toronto and montreal . slight inconvieninece of a change of trains at port Huron , but a good service netherless . Pity it wouldnt connect with eastbound l.d trains at chicago though .

can they support this train with one trainset ? i quess maintenance etc would be done in chicago , presumably theyre swapping it each day with a trainset from another route ?
