Re: Woodbury Commons Station

One of my first posts on this forum was to suggest a part time stop designated exclusively for shoppers....that seems to be what is happening now with Woodbury Common. It most likely would not make sense to have every train on the PJL stop there (especially considering the likelihood of doubled serv...

Out of curiosity, how much did it sell for?

Does this affect the contractual service NJT operates with Metro North? I've heard it said that the port jervis service is njt in virtually every aspect except its name.

You might just get your wish, as they are adding a few more tracks in hoboken.

Cameras on WOH lines

Metro North has decided to equip its comet fleet for Port Jervis and Pascack Valley line service with non-audio cameras: while we have yet to see all of the 65 cars installed with them, Im wondering if this "test run" will spur the agency to install surveillance in trains on both sides of ...

Re: Major NJT cuts, no AC line for 5 months and more

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the vast majority of NJTs customer base commutation? How can a line not be purposed for commutation if it serves a major metropolis and surrounding areas? I'm aware that the trains on the acl are staggered fairly evenly throughout the day, and the point is probably...

1169 used to be 7 single levels until the change to ML. For a time last Spring/Summer, the train was running with 7 ML. There is still a 7 car NJT single level set out of Suffern. The 8 or 9 car sets used to be prevalent in the 1980's/early 1990's. I believe many platforms along the Main Line have ...

Re: Locomotives on both ends

From what I understand, this practice is advantageous. It shaves off a few minutes from the schedule; plus, if one of them breaks down the other one can compensate. How feasible would keeping this setup be for the railroad, barring the possibility of a short supply of reliable locomotives?

Re: The Main/Bergen/Port Jervis Line Thread

Does anyone know why the deadhead to Hoboken that currently runs in the late afternoon around 5:00pm cant be put into revenue service? It would close that huge gap somewhat in the eastbound weekday schedule.

Out Of all the projects/proposals being undertaken on the PJL, the woodbury common station makes the most sense. This should have been done years ago. One weekend shuttle to and from Harriman to the mall is grossly insufficient and inconvenient.

I certainly hope their conclusion to put the spur on the back burner didnt cost millions of taxpayer dollars. :/

This is all just a bunch of bureaucratic nonsense. The Erie Railroad, to which the lines originally belonged, never relied on fiduciary or geopolitical negotiations between New York and New Jersey in order to operate.

Does anyone know offhand where the passing sidings will be built; how much more track will be required to make the pjl fully double tracked, assuming that comes to fruition?
