Re: CSX Boston and Albany Line

Are you saying you were not trying to attach meaning here in this quote? Of course I was "attaching meaning", whatever that means, just not reaching the conclusion you incorrectly jumped to. Also to reiterate, I've been out here 20 years, it was never a goal to have a DeWitt long pool on ...

Mr. Norman, my point is more directed to Chessie's fancy feast coming from the Medleys line of products, combining a variety of benefits that go to new and existing traffic over Keag, MEC, and B&M, and, in agreement with Mr. RandallW, defending herself as well. Among the different flavors there'...

What else could this be all about than developing new traffic along the MEC in Maine and by extension the Maritime Provinces? She already had the superior E-W X-Mass line (the B&A). N-S on the B&M along the CTRiver and the trackage rights over the P&W and Amtrak? Is there enough there t...

Who said it meant anything? That's just you jumping to a wrong conclusion yet again. If anything I'm more interested that it ran at night and not in the morning.

Choosing to make Syracuse an intermodal hub and shooting for long pools to save crews is more than 30 years old.

Interestingly enough, CN has been promoting Port Saint John recently within the trade press.

With my compliments, yet again you're asking a good question, Mr. Barlow. These complex network decisions are amongst my favorite coming from my own training and experience and especially as management tools have advanced. As always, it's the 80% bigger picture "dog" that'll drive the 20% ...

Unfortunately, this is just you yet again attempting to take the opportunity to blame management and the folks making the decisions. While I understand your frustration you might want to look in the mirror, especially before you wrongly accuse me of anything. That was Mr. Hinrichs who brought it up ...

Who's blaming T&E, lol? It'll be interesting to see the response. Edit: My interest in a response was not directed toward the immediate question, though certainly could be read that way, it's in how CSX will respond, if at all, to the outlawing in the light of 437 setting out in W. Springfield.

That's right, Mr. Barlow, they're blocked for Syracuse along with traffic moving in the non-Chicago lane and as part of Syracuse functioning as a hub mixing and matching intermodal traffic. As you note, speed's not the factor in this short-haul market, but price competing in a relatively high-priced...

I'm well aware of the physical characteristics of the B&A and this kind of activity outside a yard on a grade began well before PSR but for the same underlying reasons. Nothing CSX did during Covid was outside of historic or other railroads', including non-PSR, behavior, or even to greater and l...

Those P&W containers forwarded by 437 are now included in 019's West Springfield pickup and a straight shot out to Syracuse. 437 originates in Worcester, so net is no new train pairs with Worcester continuing in its mixing and matching role. They did run an extra Worcester-Selkirk X437/X426 turn...

Don't expect PSR or use of Worcester as a hub to mix/match traffic or hold/originate/terminate trains, including use of main track west of CP-45, to end any time soon. Both have been too beneficial. Without the former doubtful there'd even be this thread. Maybe even no more CSX crews who could "...

Tenants? Oh, you must mean tenets also known as principles. I'll trust what's being said by those leading our railroad industry, like Mr. Hinrichs, and who understand what those principles actually are. PSR won't be going anywhere except in name only.

It my opinion it is because he crosses the line from train spotting to analysis of interstate commerce and interstate railroad business operations. Safe to say, as has been ...
