Re: I-95 Collapse & Trenton Line

https://pacast.com/m?p=23248 There's a link to the press conference. RRD part starts at about 9:43

Looks like the big plan is bustituting the Cynwyd line and reassigning personnel/equipment to Trenton, West Trenton and Fox Chase lines and "adjustments" from there.

I heard on KYW that a SEPTA rep stated that they are adding extra cars to the existing trains, there are no plans to add any additional service. I can't find anything that's not road related, every supplied detour is it's own flavor of..lets call it bad. I-476 the Blue Route and especially the Roose...

I found this story regarding progress - or lack thereof - on CRRC's work for MBTA's Red and Orange Line cars. Has anyone heard whether there's been similar problems with SEPTA's bi-level order? https://www.masstransitmag.com/rail/vehicles/news/21295921/ma-update-gov-maura-healey-deploys-team-to-mon...

Ryan and CV: SEPTA would be smart to offer a visually inspected (commemorative) pass for a Parade Day celebration valid anywhere - keeping pressure off the Key system. Free sponsored BSL and MFSE rides will help matters as it did for the February 2018 Eagles parade as noted in that topic. I'm sorry...

I was here for the 2018 superbowl parade. I already had a Trailpass for going to the city and I had to get to class the day before. After the announcement for the special tickets the day of the parade, all inbound trains were running massively behind schedule. For me with the Trailpass it was fine, ...

Looks like the schedule changes besides Wawa is mostly just earlier morning trains. What is odd to me is that all the new schedules changed 30th Street Station to Grey 30 St. Station, are they going though with changing the name to 30th Street?

...I know I get grumpy from time to time but I'm a bit confused as to how this is devolving into a bizarre 10th amendment argument for dissolving Amtrak or forcing it to not operate non-interstate routes. IIRC, Amtrak did rebuild the AC Railroad too, plus as stated earlier in the thread The Keystone...

I'm glad to see Montco finally decided to support trains a good what, 40 years too late? Norfolk Southern won't budge an inch if they can, that line runs a lot a freight. Given the supply chain constraints and PSR, I severely doubt it short of rebuilding the PRR's old Reading line along the ROW. And...

I do not know why Septa at this point continues to pursue a costly card based system when an app based system is the future. ... From what I was talking to another SEPTA employee, and if he is to be believed, the whole KEY was for federal compliance. Some Federal entity required the fare system be ...

I'd be wary to take advice from this guy, he's got his PhD in nursing education but he isn't a medical doctor nor a MD PhD let alone an infectious diseases doctor or public health professional. From what I've read up on him he can at least talk about the main public heath statements but his extrapol...

How many more studies do we really need to run? Service drives demand, I can't take trips that aren't there. I stopped using regional rail because the headways were so bad I could make 3 round trips into center city in the time it took for another train to arrive on the weekends, and that was the R5...

The only proposal I've heard getting kicked around PennDOT was extending the NHSL from the proposed KOP end station out to Phoenixville along 422 using the ROW, but that hasn't really gone anywhere. I dunno, short of putting a congestion tax on those drivers on 422 which I think was floated out and ...

I actually like the concept of what is being proposed, but there are still some kinks to work out. It is one hell of a problem that we have a fractured system of referring to the different lines, if you ask me it's called the route 100, if you ask my Dad it's the P&W, if you ask someone reading ...

I don't know if this has been mentioned but on the quarter parking at the outlying stations it says parking payments have been suspended until the end of October.

Would it kill SEPTA to make a chart that isn't more stretched and distorted with every new schedule? Any who, looking at the old schdules I can find online https://www1.villanova.edu/content/dam/villanova/publicsafety/documents/R5%20Schedule.pdf and http://www.brynmawrpa.org/r5.html It looks like th...
