Can't see them putting in a runaround that would foul Main St., Academy and/or Central Ave. In the old days it was single-tracked between Central and Marl Rd., double tracked everywhere else, including the northbound leg of the wye. I would think a runaround would go either east of Main St. or west ...

They are cleaning the brush along the tracks between Central Ave and Marl Rd along railroad Ave. Prep to redo the track as part of the wye? Belvidere & Delaware crew doing the work.

Well, the pole with the stay cables that was fouling the ROW for the south wye leg has been yanked. Roadbed has been prepared up to Railroad Ave. Ties and rails next week? No sign of the new switch on to the southern yet.

Question for the oracles among us: Any word about the possible one-time freight move down the NJCL ?

Question: 1) In which RFP is the construction of the south wye leg mentioned? 2) If that RFP exists, what is the expected completion date? 3) If no RFP exists, what would the current prep work fall under? Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G981V using Tapatalk I could find nothing other than a dotte...

Well, it's not like they don't have the room for other stub tracks there.

For the naysaying that went on when we first found out D&D was gonna rehab and take over this line, all I gotta say is it was spectacularly wrong. It's almost a work of art.

Looks like the roadbed has been filled and compacted just west of Railroad Ave. Ties and track next week ??

They seem to be making progress at the prospective wye in Farmingdale. Brought in more heavy equipment, looks like they are stabilizing the base right at Railroad Ave. Would not be surprised to see the crossing and switch go in by mid-December.

Best I can recall, pentachlor was used in a product named "Woodlife" among others which was sold for preserving decks and fence. I believe it was taken out around 1980. Ground contact (pressure treated) as opposed to "outdoor" lumber was (maybe still is) marked CCA, for chromated...

Last I heard, Verizon sold off their wireline service (paired copper cable). May still be optical or coax for fios service. That's why you see so many downed and hanging phone cables. Very few wireline phones left.

It looked more to me like the engine exhaust shook the wire; I could not discern an actual hit, though others have said they could. Regardless, the lines need to be raised. That's on the utility that owns them, probably not Verizon.

Well the lake is pretty well drained to the point bridge work can start. Will be interesting to see traffic bound for Freehold and points west coming down the southern.

They're not that far along, it's further south, they would be using barges, and this is a supposed one-time thing.
