Sadly, there are no longer any original building left at Shops. The scrap yard owners demolished the last two structures about two years ago.

FDR at Allamuchy is not rumor, it is fact. He was there Sept. 1, 1944. There are photos of his train at the Allamuchy freight house in the book "The President Travels by Train".

I think you have picked a tough time of year to look at the abandoned railroads of Warren County. Vegetation is really thick this time of year. The NJMRHS does a yearly hike and we usually shoot for November. It is a lot easier to see stuff when the weeds are gone (to say nothing of the mosquitoes!)

Mansfield Street, Belvidere is also still standing, on the property of a propane dealer. Track is still in place as it appears they received tank cars until about 5 years ago.

Let us know when the C420 goes out on the road. I can still remember seeing blue and grey Lehigh & Hudson River units cut across the farmland in NW NJ.
