"Once upon a time", such as during the CN passenger service initiative, I was "close" to considering a "Newfie" ride during Sep '65, which was when I chose to leave "university" (short of a degree) and enlist in the US Air Force ...... That display of the 'Ne...

Banff National Park has over 4 million visitors a year so the idea of a train between Calgary and Banff is to help relieve the congestion on the Trans Canada Highway that can become a parking lot on summer weekends

Iḿ reading other articles and they´re stating that Via is just delaying them past November 1st since COVID cases are rising in some parts of Canada, so hopefully this is just an extension of the suspension instead of a full-on discontinuance of the two routes, VIA has now revised the note on their ...

May as well rename Saint John harbor "Irving Cove". Saint John has always had Tidal issues. In the winter Canadian Pacific's 'White Empresses' would sail between Saint John and Liverpool and those sailings were “according to tide”. CP also ran connecting Boat Trains across Maine to/from M...

With Covid numbers so low here....the four Atlantic Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick. Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland have formed the 'Atlantic Bubble' that allows residents to travel within these provinces without requiring a 14 day isolation when crossing a provincial border. So with th...

Here's a tour of CN's 'Caribou'....a.k.a. 'The Newfie Bullet' Narrow-Gauge Equipment at the Railway Society of Newfoundland on a short section of remaining narrow-gauge track at Mile 404 in Corner Brook. This was North America's last full-service narrow-gauge passenger train with Coaches, Sleepers a...

There have been reports in the news of Americans caught in Banff National Park by the RCMP being fined and escorted to the border. The only way you can get into Canada is to tell them you're transiting to Alaska...... It was really becoming a issue and now those transiting to Alaska can only enter ...

Canada-USA international border is currently closed to non-essential travel until September 21. Isn't the Adirondack a New York State sponsored route rather than a national Amtrak route? If that's the case, wouldn't the decision to resume service be primarily New York's to make with Amtrak offering...

Now would JD Irving allow them to have free access to the Port (sounds like Irving kind of "owns" St. John) Irving kinda "owns" New Brunswick! (BTW.....how far south is the reach of Irving Gas? They have northern New England pretty well covered. Any Gas Stations in Mass, RI or C...

On the refining side of Irving.......do they move any petroleum products into the US by rail from Saint John? (How far south have Irving Gas stations reached now? I know they're in Connecticut. Any in NY?)
