Sounds like the South Brooklyn Railway which is freight, which is actually connected to 38th Street Yard. There is a switch near the portal, it's just not really clear on Google maps.
Tired of me mentioning my LGBTQ status and having my posts killed by the Editors of Trains and Model railroader and other forums...But here is a man who was a columnist who lived thru the McCarthy Era and openly gay with a partner - https://www.cruiselinehistory.com/luscious-lucius-beebe-the-empero...
Well there was that kid in NYC who stole a subway train multiple times actually ran it quite smoothly without wrecking it in the 1990s…Now he is like 50 years old and just got recaught steeling a Greyhound bus Darius didn't know how to sectionalize a train. I wouldn't say he ran anything "quit...
I saw a report on today's NBC Today show about traffic congestion coming back, but during different times: 10am-3pm. This is mainly due to people working from home and doing some errands during that "lunch hour" with some more flexible schedule. I guess this explains why I can't go grocer...

The IRT is unpredictable? LOLLLLLL indeed.
Let's pour one out for all the nonsense and stupidity over there...
Nothing is contradictory. The first time you tap the card using OMNY you're only going to be able to use it for one person, so plan accordingly. Any subsequent trips you'll be able to pay for 4 people on a single card/device because the system will recognize the payment method. It doesn't explicitly...
CJ - I read your rant about the problems that you experienced on your recent PHL-NYP trip... First - Was it so important to ride Acela services that you and your friends did not consider other Amtrak trains that would have offered a much-lower fare - Regional or Keystones? Ding ding ding, we have a...
You think these customers don't compulsively check their bank accounts and scream at the station agent that they have multiple pending charges? It happens with both OMNY and broken MVMs. As soon as a transaction fails at the MVM they're screaming about the pending charge.
They had a systemwide issue yesterday.
No different than when the credit card processing on the MVMs go to pot and people have multiple pending charges.
Adding value after acquisition isn't really a problem, you can take it to other places that sell them to add value, and you can replenish via credit card on the website if you register it.
Service is also partially throttled by mainline slots or lack thereof. If anything is built to modify Waterbury branch capacity and free up mainline space, it should be a permanent Devon transfer station.
I don't blame Metro-North for pushing back. It cuts down on flexibility. Sounds like Amtrak needs to go fix these clearance issues and be done with it. Presumably through trains *could* resume with M8s, since it has been said elsewhere on this board that part of the reason why Stamford through servi...
