Oh yeah, has anyone really noted the Hellertown situation? They would not be fans of any kind of rail restoration either, especially after having removed the rails on the crossings in their town. Same goes for Coopersburg. NIMBYs are no force to be snuffed at either. Spot on! Any time I get nostalg...

Don't hold your breath! Decades away is probably an underestimate... When I commuted daily from Stroudsburg to NYC all I heard every day on the bus was about restoration of rail service, "it's comin', real soon, any day now, they're lookin' into it, maybe in 5-7 years", NJT is going to hel...

The right turn at the second light after crossing the river is at Carlisle Street. There is a bar there, sort of a landmark.

Also lock your doors after crossing 15th Street at the Hotel Traylor; downtown Allentown looks more like downtown Brooklyn.

I also noticed while traveling on the High Street Bridge over the tracks in Hellertown that the rails have been pulled as far as the eye can see both northbound toward Saucon Yard and southbound toward the old station location.

Very sad indeed :(

If south of Glen Riddle means south of the Hospital of the same name and south of Lima, PA then SEPTALRV9072 is right on the money. The confusing thing is that you may be seeing two of the three different lines that converged just to the east of the overpass at Wawa where a station once proudly stoo...

Well considering it was X-NYC I'm glad the rails were ripped up!

PRR Forever!

Thanks for the info.

RR From Williamsport along 414

I am going fishing in the Pine Creek Valley this month and I couldn't help but notice RR tracks on my computer map coming out of Williamsport and paralleling route 414 headed north to NY State. It is my understanding that some or all of the trackage is now a trail :( but any info would be appreciate...

Fastest way to get to the zoo??

Dress up in a gorilla costume and run down the street knocking over garbage cans and scaring women and children.

That last time I rode the el, (about 2 years ago) there was STILL some X-Cardington Branch track barely visible on the inbound side of the MFE beyond the Millborne Station. You have to look hard but it's still there. On another note, in the 70's Millborne station was a fare jumpers paradise. As kids...
