> Want to sit in an Air Train seat for 2 1/2 hours? I can't believe they don't send out a crewman to manually move the train to the next station. Probably the subject for a different forum, but how often are there AirTrain failures? We have a similar system at SFO that seems pretty reliable. > Ever ...

> That's why its called a tentative contract True. The unions have voted on it. While management said "we like it", their official vote has not taken place yet. "The BART board of directors is scheduled to go over the details of the tentative agreement at a closed session meeting Frid...
> BART just settled an agreement after their 3 day strike and it seemed they didn't do too bad. In all nobody wants to see a strike, even the workers. If an agreement can be made before then, believe me everyone will be happier. The BART agreement is a four year contract with three years at 3.72 per...

From an aerial photo (Google maps) it looks like they are adding a few storage tracks to the West Falls Church Yard. Which will allow storing another half dozen trains (8 cars). For the opening day, trains could be stored elsewhere, and staged for the Silver Line. This could be done with extra opera...
This would be a wonderful contribution. As mentioned, much of the data is in print form in various libraries (Seashore), BERY, etc.) but not online. Having a map of the old Eastern Mass Street Railway would be great, along with the other lines. Trackless brollies (trollyeybusses) would also be good.

I seem to remember a fire burning down many blocks of east Cambridge. Either late fifties or sixties? Quite a few rail-served industries were involved, but I am not sure if it affected any transit (either Red line at Kendall or Green line at Lechmere. I tried googling "cambridge fire", etc...
