Re: SEPTA NPT card will be "SEPTA Key"?

[Is there really only 2 validators? It needs to be clear that you can use any validator at a station. At my usual station, there are 6 on the outbound side (3 on the platform and 3 beneath the platform that can be used for parking as well) and 6 on the inbound side (similar 3/3 arrangement). All 12...

now that it's been a few months since the ribbon cutting it's worth revisiting that this project has been a disaster. not only does the station leak but service has been a disaster since now all trains, including deadheads, must operate through the same two tracks without any of the necessary inter...

I'm actually a little surprised that it could possibly work on regional rail with the tap-in tap-out necessary. I'd also be fine with the Apple Pay being the equivalent to the sucker fare. If only being used as a convenience at the gate instead of using a ticket machine, then pricing should be equiv...

Much more so if the site holds your CC information now as an autopay function. There will be lots of files linked to personal profiles that weren’t there before. The profiles linked to your bank/credit card are where the concern is.

One last thing that's been bugging me for quite a while...What happens when has SEPTA a breach? This system is linked to your credit card...and shows where and when you tap in and tap out making a map of your habits over the course of the key cards life. Are there mechanisms in place ensuring minim...

I'm convinced by the informed operational posts I've seen here that it wouldn't be feasible to run Gloucester Co. trains over PATCO into Center City. Surprising since the orig PATCO plan was for 3 branches all combining at Camden & running into the subway, but I guess real-world testing proved ...

It’s a tough situation. As a country, we have a huge addiction to debt and cheap loans. The Federal Reserve has become a dope dealer to propagate this trend for over 2 decades. The endless wars in the Middle East have exacerbated our national debt. Our national debt is over $22 trillion. If you div...

Maybe you're thinking of the 1995 travel demand forecast study produced by DVRPC on SEPTA's behalf (https://www.dvrpc.org/Reports/95002.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). As noted above, it did not conclude happily. Thank you for the report link. I had not read through i...

Does anyone have any photographs of the closed North Concourse in 30th St. Station? It sounds like there's a good amount of space in there, but I've never seen any pictures of it, before or after the fire. Not at all what you asked for, but I came across renderings of a potential refurbished North ...

Are you referring to the emergency exit stairs on the platform? There are emergency exit stairs on the west ends of the platform; I think they lead to the parking garage below, but I've never gone up or down them. I believe these are the stairs you refer to. They simply exit directly onto 30th stre...

I despise those slot boxes. The only positive thing I can say about them is they would work in case of a blackout.

I know adding traffic on the Delair Bridge isn't the wisest of things but it is there and the infrastructure is already in place to run a passenger rail system in South Jersey. There is currently a ROW and rail that connects the ACL to the freight side of the River Line. From there, there you have ...

Has SEPTA left any crumbs for us to follow in their capital budgeting as far as the double-tracking north of Ardsley? Is there any sign of what the plans actually are? I could find nothing in the latest TIP doc from DVRPC.. https://www.dvrpc.org/TIP/pafinal/2017/paprogram.pdf" onclick="win...
