There has been discussion of extending the catenary to the Merritt 7 station in Norwalk so M8s could be used to run shuttles from the office park to South Norwalk.

Construction will occur on a barge about 1/4 mile south of the current bridge. The barge will be moored adjacent to two open lots along Water Street on the west bank of the Norwalk River.

The Native-American fort archaeological excavation will have no impact on the new bridge's construction schedule. The excavation will be completed by the end of the year. The site will then become part of the New Haven Line's right-of-way.

New Haven Line stopped both directions due to signal outage at CP 248, Sasco Creek, Westport, at 5:30 p.m. Possible lightning strike, per RTC.

Dock Yard is north of Ann St. If you're familiar with Norwalk, it's east of where the new mall is being constructed, and south of Science Rd. and the city's transfer station. Here are some photos of how the yard area looked in February:
