For the older M2/4/6 on a weekend, head to the New Canaan branch for your best chance of getting one. For the first time ever last Sunday I got an M8 both directions heading to and from Bridgeport however I did see plenty of the older trains still running. Its just a luck of the draw, I would try yo...

Canon Eos Rebel XSi with the basic 18-55mm IS lens. For a kit lens it gives very good performance. The exif info for my photos is on the site, showing all my settings and stuff used for those who are curious and to help people learn.

There are a few M2s here and there still with rollsigns. M2s? I mean, maybe possible I don't know, but are you sure those weren't just M4 pairs [I know there are more triplets than 8934/8935 that have had their middle D car removed - forgot which ones... I also know an M6 or two has undergone this ...

There are a few M2s here and there still with rollsigns, I see them more often on the M4s and M6s which are newer and thus had less heavy maintenance. As for the rollsigns, sometimes they are accurate. I know there are M3As with them here and there as well.

Photos Ive taken in the past few months of Metro North. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-6V7pUjEWFAo/UKmsKpcJ_PI/AAAAAAAAIeE/LpgFW-YlM_U/s800/IMG_8464.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-d-gOWPIxdeo/UKmsKl1V6SI/AAAAAAAAIeE/D7IujDjczaw/s800/IMG_8928.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-fbQMC8r...

I wonder if the Port Jervis line got destroyed again like last year? It seems this time around its the Hudson line that is going to be gone for a while. Heres another question, metro north cross honors monthlys from Hudson Line stations during the storm (they probably would anyway because the zone n...

Also are there any weekend trains that use shore line east equipment?

Valley Stream is a decent photo location but its a ghetto area so be careful. Wantagh is pretty good as well, Massapequa has nice columns. Long Beach is interesting with the drawbridge Broadway is an interesting stop with the Korean billboards near the station Mineola is good but a bit overdone in m...

I had to look this one up, I'm a Chicago resident so I know next to nothing about NYCTA. It appears the Rockaway lines are a inverted-T shape. It also appears to front a beach on the Atlantic Ocean, with lots of highrise towers on the beach. Are these considered "the projects" or a housin...
