There is some to be seen from I81 but if you don't know where your looking, and just to be safe, pull over to gander. Not much can be viewed now. However once the leaves are gone completely in a month, you can see the ROW and the sloping that was done with the excavation of I81. The ROW is, more or ...

Video taken (not by me) of the North Shore RR street running in Lewistown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QA6-JVr_68Q&feature=my_liked_videos&list=LLoRss26DnyBgeQ5pLcnCOKQ And NSHR crossing Route 322. I'm not surprised at the amount of motorists running the red signals. I wouldn't suggest ga...

(Forgot to answer your other questions) As for motive power, it varies. While I haven't seen a train traversing the line (yet), from pics posted by other railfans, power depends on the train I suppose. I did see a few pics of the ex-MILW 9052 & a Reading-schemed 55xx unit going all the way to LS...

I believe that NSHR/SVRR interchange with the RBMN at Locust Summit Yard. There's been a fair amount of MOW going on between LS and Shamokin, with new ballast, tie replacement and even a siding going in along Route 901. That was all done a few months back.... I should get back up that way again some...

IIRC, NS delivers/picks up at Leaman Place Junction very late Tuesday/Thursday night or very early Wednesday/Friday morning.

RDG's Rausch Creek station

Now that the vegetation is down, I walked back where the station would've stood. The block foundation is easy to see from Rausch Creek Road... or so I thought. I walked around the immediate area find three railroad ties, two wooden pole bases that look similar to telegraph/water tower support poles,...

Yes it is. I saw pictures that it's currently resting in Hamburg Yard.

On my way to work this morning, I noticed a white semi (sans trailer) sitting near RDG 2060. I can report that she is now gone, no longer in Good Spring. I would assume the RCT&HS moved her to Hamburg today.

I wouldn't have called the city offices, I would've called NS and reported it. Good to hear you averted a (potentially) dangerous situation; not that parking any vehicle on RR tracks isn't dangerous to begin with.

Do you mean 200 some feet? The car itself must be at least 20 feet long. It's a short amount of trackage. It's more than 20', maybe 100'. Here a Bing Maps view of the Manheim Train Station. http://www.bing.com/maps/?v=2&cp=qpsq0z8n0kcj&lvl=19.598326440662767&dir=352.8384418112725&st...

I had forgotten to mention that at Exit 107 (Tremont, Tower City) the tail end on the RDG's Mount Eagle Branch would've gone across Route 209 at that spot.

The RBMN line near I81 MP107 is the Tremont Running Track, ex RDG Lebanon & Tremont Branch. Around the bottom of the curve at I81 MP 104 (Ravine) was Lorberry Junction, where the RDG's L&TB turned towards Tremont and the Lorberry Branch switched in the opposite direction to serve the Lincoln...
