Re: City of St Louis with Wabash power??

I have the Wabash in color book, it clearly shows: 1) Wabash is in the door light or 2 light camp. The logo in the photo covers this light. Some debate if the Wabash flag is painted on the unit, or painted on a steel plate with full clearance for the nose door. 2) City of St Louis a joint UP-Wabash...

While i am a huge fan of North American railroading, and my now stored N-scale collection is mostly US vehicles, i will post something else in this thread. My European H0 and 00 scale trains, the ones i actually run nowadays. I do not have a layout though, so my shots will mostly have a black backdr...

I do know that the cars in the... Image are not painted correctly, but that's pretty much all i knew beforehand. Prior to finding this picture i can't even recall knowing anything about the Wabash pulling the CoStL. But, anyway, back on topic. You're saying that, even though neither you or me have s...

WAB power with UP logos?

Earlier today i found this picture on Wikipedia. I had no idea that the Wabash pulled the City of St Louis in the first place, but what really caught my eye was the engines. Two EMD E7A's wearing Wabash livery, but also the UP herald on the nose and City of St Louis titles on the sides. Is there any...

City of St Louis with Wabash power??

Just found this picture on Wikipedia. Not only does it show the City of St Louis being pulled by Wabash power, but Wabash power with UP logo and City of St Louis text. Is there any truth to this image? Did Wabash E-units ever pull the City, and if so, did it ever wear UP heralds? The picture is date...

As i am not sure if this belongs in the CRI&P or CB&Q section, or both, i though it best to post it here and let the admins place it where they think it belongs. I have recently found out about a co-operative train between the Rock Island and the Burlington Route called the Zephyr Rocket, an...

Huh. I honestly thought they would have been able to work together anyway.

Sounds like he was a nice guy.

I always thought CP kept their cars in the best condition possible until the transfer to VIA.

Anyway, thanks for confirming what i thought. CN, CP and VIA combos were possible.

Edit: You wouldn't happen to know the name/number of the dining car?

Thanks mate. I only have two questions:

So you could actually see cars in CN, CP and VIA colours all combined in a single train? It's not just my imagination jumping to conclusions?

The brake systems were different? I thought all rail cars were supposed to be built to the same specifications?

All 6 former RPO cars were purchased from the Union Pacific in 1991. They were upgraded with pass-through HEP lines by VIA in 1993. I see. So they got all six at once. Could they ever be seen mixed with cars still in CN colours? No, anything still in CN (or CP) colours had mostly been re painted in...
