Bethlehem Jct. wrote:Question: Who installed the new signals? NS or RBMN?The interlocking is controlled by NS. The RBMN Lehighton Branch is supposed to get CTC though from what I understand.
Yes, RBMN PILE drops cars there which are picked up by NS H67 from Hazleton. I'm intrigued why they're doing all of these upgrades when all indications are that if anything this line will see less traffic than it is now.
With the addition of the wye in Allentown, there's no need for it now (and I never heard it used even prior to that to be honest).
BPRR 3101 (ex-RSR 101) is RSR assigned 102 is BP-assigned 807 is BP-assigned (generally used out of Butler on PW-1/BT3) 3807 is BP-assigned (generally used out of Butler on PW-1/BT3) GNWR 45 was also sold to GMTX (not sure what #). Was assigned to the JB-1 Johnsonburg yard job on the BP for several ...
Any updates on WCOR ops? I heard elsewhere WC-1 was a night crew now? Is the H2O job still daylight?
Two reasons given are the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern's stick rail is preventing NS from running the larger trains it wants to run from Buffalo to Allentown The line is now entirely or mostly CWR. They did major upgrades last year which have made the trackage in much better shape than it h...

It was a 252, which is the only regular SB road job with CP power.
Not to offend anyone who things this is a great spot: BUT, I had a fan take me there several years back saying all the way there that it was a great spot he had read about on the internet. When we arrived, I took one look at the location and turned to ask my friend, "so where is this great spo...
The bridge at the interlocking at CANNON, Cove, the field at Marysville, the station on the other side, the boat launch on the NW side of the bridge (only in the late PM), the SW side of the bridge, and the "Iron Bridge" on the north end of Enola.
Technically you can stand on the road, yes. The traditional spots that were OK during the CR days are strictly off limits though. There are many better locations in the general area on the Reading Line that are much better (Emmaus/Macungie/Alburtis). Also, if you do go there I certainly would not st...
Blandon to the east and Wyomissing to the west are probably better places to hang out at for the future. Better shots and better suited for sitting. Mornings are usually pretty good with the AM eastbound intermodal parade plus typically 4-6 westbounds from daybreak to noon.
Lately some loaded crude oil trains (62J and 64N) have run that way too.
The article stated the westbound train will have the symbol 12K. 12K would be a manifest symbol for NS. 2xx are IM. I did some some research online and found that 12K already exists as a symbol for NS in the Midwest. With that in mind, I went back and re-rared the Railpace article. I misread the sy...
