I’m guessing this will be used 99% by CSX?
There was well more than 20 cars last night.
I believe this is Motiva and those are ethanol tanks… if I’m thinking of the correct area
No 37T.
I believe they are down to twice a week now. South of Binghamton is down to 2 per day to Harrisburg.
Sad times all over NS
This is sad.
Thank you. Anyone who thinks NS is doing a good job at getting traffic has REALLY low expectations. Remember NS routed trains off the Buffalo Line to the Tier and now that traffic is gone too. Old CP traffic on the west end? D&H taken over by NS and that traffic gone as well. If and when CSX tak...
Trains may be long, but there’s nowhere near the amount of traffic on the line from even 10 years ago. It’s a downward spiral but not just on the Southern Tier
I was once told that the NYSW was actually allowed to interchange with CP provided it is for its own online business. The benefit from locating a business on the NYSW was that they could receive quotes from all 3 railroads. Nonetheless yes, there is no overhead bridge traffic on the NYSW and there h...
Are they shipping to Toronto via Montreal? That’s what NS used to do back in the day and then we’re surprised when no one used them.
Later NS ran NJ to only Buffalo on a 5 day schedule.
I think CN has turned their focus to the Pan Am and anything that connects to it.
It’s simple really. Some of the traffic dissolved and now the railroads have little to no interest in going after new traffic. Intermodal could be 10x bigger than it is with the right investments. Nowadays they would rather slash slash slash to make a profit rather than grow for the long term.
From what it sounds like, 22K and 23K are back but 205/206 are cut back to Buffalo.
Truthfully, NS isn’t adding traffic anywhere. In fantasyland, it would be ideal if CN took over the line from end to end and somehow was able to connect to their line at Syracuse.
