Re: Delaware & Ulster Railroad (DURR) Discussion

I called the DURR today to ask about the #5017. I was told it was not currently running. When asked if it was stored in the shop or out somewhere public where it could be viewed (and photographed), I was told it depended on the day. Sometimes it is outside, sometimes it is in the shop.

Re: 2019 Fall Train Show Listing

Wow, the Albany Polish CC show is the week before the Albany GTE? That seems crazy.

Re: A&A models commercially available

I updated the USTTC listings above to include the red caboose that wasn't featured in the promotional blurb in the CTT magazine. Surprisingly, the USTTC released 2 different style cabooses in the A&A scheme! I updated the listing to reflect the other type. Here are the models I have, including the ...

Re: Delaware & Ulster Railroad (DURR) Discussion

Can anyone tell me what locomotives they are using for their trains currently? Is the RS36 (#5017) still running? What about the former NYO&W #116? Thanks.

Re: Protected rail crossings

Are the Russian crossings manned with employees in vests? It seems after every crash someone ran out wearing an orange safety vest to investigate.

At the same time, I didn't see a single train impacted by these crossings so I guess they work.

Re: Former LIRR Alco C420 on LA&L

I believe Atlas offered a model of it in HO. I saw this engine a lot (usually teamed with #425) in Rochester when I attended RIT from 2000 to 2004. I assume the numbering of both engines is based on their Alco model designations.

I would love to find that Atlas model of this engine.

Re: Anyone involved with the NYS Museum of Transportation in Rush, NY?

The museum was very kind and allowed me to document and photograph the underside of the caboose. Their trolley ride was enjoyable too.

Re: Conrail BM repaints in mid-1980s

I hope Bill does see it, as that sounds very helpful! Thanks to all for the information. Ben and anyone else interested in the Guilford roster: the all-time roster pdf file that some of you have seen is based on an MS Word document that I haven't updated in a few years. I am, however, continuing to...

Re: Conrail BM repaints in mid-1980s

Thank you very much!

Is Bill Gingrich's comprehensive roster part of a book? If so, I will purchase it as it sounds like a great book.

Conrail BM repaints in mid-1980s

I have seen pictures of some old Conrail units (U-boats and I think some Geeps) where the "can opener" was painted out and "BM" was stenciled on the nose. In some pictures the can opener wasn't even painted out fully. The pictures were dated 1985. Did they arrive then, or might they have come in 198...

Anyone involved with the NYS Museum of Transportation in Rush, NY?

I am building a 1/8 scale model of G&W caboose #8, formerly of the DL&W. I have plans and lots of pictures but have nothing showing the underside. The museum used to have #8 outside but lately I don't see it visible in online pictures of the area. The website says it is undergoing roof repair and no...
