Let me set the record straight on this one. We did purchase the passenger car in an effort to save it from being cut. As one can imagine there are not a lot of Lehigh Valley passenger cars still around and we had hoped to save this one. After purchase we had a very qualified Amtrak inspector go to M...

I graduated UofR in '83 and CR was still delivering coal about 2-3 times/week. Typically they used a EL GP-9 which was CR-ized. Never saw any of the RS-32's that were so prominent in the area on that run. There was no rotary dumper at the University. They had a big car shaker that clamped to the sid...

I remember the Freedon Train came out of Scranton E.B. with 2 EL GP-35 and a PC GP-35 on the point. The helpers went all the way to Analomink where the train was stopped and the head end diesels were cut off. The diesels came ahead at dusk and the T-1 started the train from a dead stop. I was standi...

Without researching it I'd guess it is the D&H. Perhaps the SP&S/BN might be second.

So the million dollar question is.......Do the ones in Texas have roller bearings or plain bearings. If they are rollers, people will be interested, if they are plain bearing there won't be much interest.

There is a lot more interesting local history concerning that crossing. The Blood's are buried in the North Cemetary in Hollis. Jebediah (I think that was his name) Blood's headstone has a finger pointing toward the sky that on Halloween reverses direction and points to the ground. The B&M never...

Well, you out bid me for those photographs at the Brookline auction so I shouldn't tell you this but...... Those photos from Pine Hill crossing are taken on the Hillsborough Branch. If you travel on Nartoff Rd. in Hollis you can see to the North where Pine Hill road continued north near the infamous...
