Re: C1 and C3 Bilevels

What is a diesel train doing operating on the electrified Port Washington branch? View is NE towards the Flushing River. Note the former W&J Sloan Furniture Co. tower with U-Haul sign and Flushing EL with #7 train operating along Roosevelt Ave. bridge.? Perhaps it is very early in the usage/testing ...

Re: C1 and C3 Bilevels

From Mike Boland: C1 cars have a "bottom fluting" that run the entire length of the car as does a boxcar, similar to late PRR boxcars like the X51, 55 and 56. The C3 "bottom fluting" is tapered and begins just past the truck on each car and runs between them. Makes it easy "as pie" to "spot 'em" :-)...

How has this project affected NY & Atantic's oil customer in New Hyde Park? I believe they use the beginnings of a spur that once extended to Nassau Terminal Road????
Referring to Hart Fuel Co., New Hyde Park Oil Terminal (former Plaza Fuel Co.*), or another customer?

Re: Elmont/Belmont Race Track Station

Lots of logistics involved here. I won't be surprised if this station never gets built. It's another one of Cuomo's pet projects right? Well he could be out of office before any of this gets finalized and comes to fruition. And in that case, the plan might get radically downsized/changed or fall by...

MA90 - This is my reply about your 10 comments - PRO first: 1-Electronic screens for advertisements are good-provided that they work and do not become a target for vandals (all those interior security cameras may well be a deterrent to any mischievous activity...) 2-Two front LED signs is really no...

Also, I'm happy that the BBC code from Flickr is back to the forums.
Nice: The old flexibility is back as I just posted the M9seating diagram to test it. Thanks for the heads-up... :-)

Re: M9 and M9A Procurement & Acceptance

My opinion on the look of the M9 cars both pros and cons. PROS: 1.) I approve the advancements in accommodations such as the electronic screens for advertisements. 2.) LED destination present on the front of the cars above the conductor and engineer cabs. 3.) The fact that when the train is arrivin...
