Idle daydream:

It would be pretty damned cool if PAR pulled a CMQ and gifted us all with a pair of Dash 8-40Cs painted in MEC yellow and B&M blue.

Just sayin'.

This is what they've been doing. I think(?) they've still got a GATX GP15-1 working out of Waterville, and they've got a GATX mother/slug set at East Deerfield.
I forgot to mention that they have a GATX mother/slug set based out of Waterville, too.

Observation: don't be too put off by the paint on some of these. I've seen worse exterior conditions on much newer units. The ex-FEC SD70M-2s picked up by PW and VTR, for example, had more rust than these Dash 8s despite being 18 years newer.

(I can also say with some certainty that these Dash 8s have fewer electrical gremlins than those SD70M-2s...)

I was thinking about this the other day. That would be cool. When they get the PAR blue dip though I hope they do the black trucks and fuel tank like they did on one of the units recently. The all blue everything looks kinda cheesy

The latest three repaints have all been done with the black underframe. Guess we'll see if they continue the trend when the 512 comes out of the paint shop. Also, don't expect the Dash 8s to be repainted quickly.
