When I visited last Thursday, H12 had a single GP38-2, and the LRWY was using a pair of NS high hood GP38-2s. Pics up tomorrow.

Hi Does any one happen to know which 2 Hi-hood GP-38-2s are being used for the Lehigh railway? Many Thanks.

Because they were calling themselves the Lehigh Railway (Seriously). I just got in from work, so I'll try and get the images up later today.

H12 had NS 5055 and I think 7 cars, a pellet hopper, some boxcars (FGLK) and some NATX tanks. The LRWY was using NS 5101 and 5158. 16 cars to hand off the the H12, mainly HS and CP boxcars, but there were a couple tanks (HCl) and a TTPX bulkhead on the rear.

As of Thursday morning they were still sitting in North Towanda. Got a couple pictures of them as this is the first I've seen them.

Just watched them go by the house for my first time (17:15) with a pretty good size train with both engines.

And go back towards Towanda at 17:55. Shorter train of all boxcars.

Sounds like this railroad is getting good here. Does anyone have any videos or pictures of this railway?

If I had known they were coming...

Service still seems very spotty, unless they're interchanging much more with the other end of the line.

As promised, here are my shots from the 29th:

Starting off we have the H12:

Then as H12 was preparing to leave, the LRWY called in, and said they'd be there soon, as they were passing through Athens. I had expected to see the U23Bs, but the power I got is just as nice! I followed it along Lehigh Ave, and tried to get some shots with elevation, that weren't quite as elevated as I had expected:

I went further down to try and get some shots at normal level, which was slightly more successful:

They passed as the H12 was backing down to meet them:

Overall, not a bad day! there was a huge cut of salt cars there as well, but I didn't get shots. I got most of the freight cars, but I'll get those at a later date.

Who gets bulkhead flats south of Sayre?

Sure Andy, come down and don't say hi... :(

Around 15:00 LR 2302 running light stops on the geographical East end of the Athens, PA bridge over the Chemung River. H11/12 is working in Sayre, and the LR crew is repeatedly asking for permission to come up to Sayre and get their loads to run East.

Shortly thereafter, H11/12 is clear of the LR track limits and LR 2302 throttles up. Here they are on the bridge:

a bit closer, note that NS has well posted the bridge on the photographic side:

going past and approaching North Elmira St crossing and a look at a crooked diamond:

hitting the N. Elmira st crossing. This is the first running U23B I've seen, since long ago this same spot when I didn't care:

I was going to catch them on the way back with their pickup- but they were quick and headed back within a half hour. Left me watching them instead of photographing them. They had a lot of cars for a single four-axle to tug back.

Side note- only seen flags on the ends of their trains so far, no EOT markers.

Those are some very nice photos!!!!!! I mean that both of you guys!!!!! that 2302 looks really nice one thing I dislike is the lack of class lights (Red marker lights on the front and back.) Other wise very good!!!!!!!! :-D

Nice pics!
thanks Andy and Tom!

yeah, that crooked diamond is a bit odd..
My first thought was that maybe someone originally intended it to be a diamond shape, as in "diamond ring" type stylized diamond..
which might look like this:

Image

but then the striping was installed upside down!
maybe..

(Notice that the NYSW lettering is gone now..)

Thanks for the compliments, but I have to re-learn to get rid of my standard exposure compensation when shooting all-black units, and the weather really wasn't favorable.

Should've said 'squashed diamond' instead of crooked. A nice set of stripes might improve the ends a bit (IMHO).
