Like I said in earlier posts, the first three that will be ready to go from Cohocton will be 4223, 4264, 3666. 73 will be ready when the oil leak is found and corrected - which may be done too.

The air compressor in 418 should have been installed in the past week or so, if nothing else took priority. Parts for 432 may or may not have come in yet and that one will be ready to go. 550 needed a going over and whatever repairs / maintenenace deemed necessary.

That's 5 more ALCOs on the road, and 2 returned to the road :>)

A report I got from a NYSW guy, 3672 is the last unit in BInghamton. All the others are on their way out there.

Did you guys ever find 4228?

Before shouting "There, can you understand English now?", maybe YOU should brush up a bit. There is a big difference between "where" and "were". When you keep using incorrect words it makes it harder for people to understand you. We're not saying everyone has to use perfect grammar but before you flip out at other people, realize it's YOU that doesn't use English correctly.

NYSW #3666 ( ex #45 ) is officially gone! I was in Cohocton last Wednesday when the crew pulled ex #3666 out of the shop. The number boards have been removed, all NYSW has been painted over and the only visible roster number was the #45 showing through on the rear. RPPX # 4223 and Morristown & Erie # 4264 reamin in the yard along with # 422 # 423. NYSW # 3664 & #3668 in the dead line with the two old B&H S1's. No sign of # 73???

4228 is indeed at East Binghamton. Right next to the shops.

Word is that one of the Cohocton units will be coming to the WNYP to act as power for a work train that will help build the Hornell interchange. Still working on a number.

Great news about #4228!!!

I understand that the unit that was to be on the work train will be delayed a bit more due to an FRA defect. I believe that's the 4228.

The following are some statistics that have no bearing on the overall health of the universe. I had some free time this afternoon and put this all together. It does not reflect on how the railroad is doing. It is not an official release from the railroad. It is simply me, putting some numbers together and sharing my findings to you kind folk. This is offered "as-is." It is not meant to be taken as the end all be all of the story. On with the numbers...

Grand Total of 33 Alcos (32 if you do not count 3672 as it has yet to arrive)
88% are 251 Powered
12% are 539 Powered
52% are usable to some degree (includes 20, 3666, 4264, 4223, 73)
36% is new to the roster
Without this 36% being counted in the usables, 67% of the "originals as in pre-WNYP expansion were usable.
70% of the roster are four axle locomotives
30% are six axle locomotives
1% of the roster are switchers
99% of the roster are road-switchers(road engines are road-switchers by definition)
70% of the roster are Schenectady graduates
30% are Montreal graduates
64% (+/- 1%) are slated for use on the WNYP
33% are currently lettered as WNYP engines
18% are actually on the WNYP
27% are lettered for the LA&L (20, 72, 420, 423, 424, 425, 427, 428, 429)
1% is actually in use on the LA&L (72, 420, 425)
1% is lettered for the B&H (4, 5, 422)
45% are on the B&H

Okay I'm done for now... Enjoy!

:-)
