Look's like one of the Comet II's (cab) from MN's west of Hudson line has returned from rebuild. Note the Extra window on the fireman's side.

Hmm, and shows the 2 tone chime on it too! I'm sure it will be placed into service shortly! Thanks for posting!

All East of Hudson MNCR cab cars have two tone horns.
This car pictured is former WOH cab car 5178

The woh comet II's use to have the black band with the old M logo. The woh comet II's also had strobe lights mounted on the roof.

Here are a few photos of them in past years.

I usually don't correct people's spelling and grammar in these forums, but this one is irking me. There is only one "m" in Comet, and only one "x" in ex; ideally there is a hyphen after "ex".

Thank you for your indulgence.

William White* had a "thing" about hyphens, too! ;^P

* Lackawanna and later, EL president, who eliminated the hyphen from the "Erie-Lackawanna" corporate name in 1964.

Is MN going to keep the fireman's window or remove it?

Since the car is returned from the rebuilt (at Bath NY) its safe to say yes the window stays, It won't help railfans however

I know that. It's not like an M2 or M3 where you can stand and see the tracks.

The Comet Ib's were not rebuilt into Comet II's. The Comet Ib's were built from the original Arrow MU cars.

Comet 2bs+rebuild=Comet 2Ms

Thanks, but you're missing 5173 and 5174.
