What ever happened to this locomotive?



Does anyone know?

Location: Old US Steel works west of Birmingham, Alabama, USA

Date of Photo: June 1997

The unit was there in 2004 and I am guessing it will be there for a while. Hurricanes might have done a few things since then.

What's left of it?

It looks like the radiator is long gone as well as some of the accessories (anything that is not prime mover, generator, trucks w/ traction motors)

Who owns it?

Are there any plans for it?

Is it serving as a parts unit for some other S switcher?
