Same reason it is there as the reason as there is for one being at Wellington...it used to be the terminal for the Braintree branch while the extention was being built. Probably hasn't been used for years...

Actually it has been used recently, when they short-turn trains at Quincy Center because of emergencies, in fact, I've even heard it myself, and it's a lower-tone bell sound than Braintree and Oak Grove.
