Q364-24 EB at Lyons NY on the CSX Waterlevel route at 5:20pm, had CSX 8973 leading HLCX 580 and HLCX 591. The 8973 is X-CR, nee-EL SD45-2 in CSX "Bright Future" paint, still equiped with the EL Horns mounted on the right side of the cab. A nice surprise on a nice day. Unfortunately, I was just getting off duty and had no camera available. Q364-24 had 197 loads, 14 emptys, at 12,377 tons, and 12,382 feet long, and will be yarding at Selkirk, NY tonight. Good luck. I hope it'll head back this way, in a day or 2. Maybe it'll need to be recrewed and I can get the chance to run it.

Maybe I just have an eye for these things. After arriving at Selkirk on Q362-14 on Sunday 5/16, I noticed CSX 8974 sitting just east of the sand towers at Selkirk. Another ex EL/CR sd45-2, this one is in the new "dark future" paint. I believe it is being utilized by the yard forces at selkirk, maybe for pulldowns.
