Someone smashed the windows out of a caboose over the weekend. Here's the article from the Pottsville Republican:
Vandalism won’t stop project

MINERSVILLE — The restoration of a steam locomotive won’t be derailed due to vandalism, the head of the project said Tuesday. Over the weekend, vandals smashed two windows on a caboose sitting with the locomotive on a siding beside the old Minersville train station. Robert E. Kimmel Jr., president of Railway Restoration Project 113, said the vandals caused about $1,000 in damage. “It’s disheartening,” he said. “All the work that goes into it for the community and the preservation and then you have this happen.”

Why is it we preservationists suddenly feel gratitude for the fact the vandals didn't torch it as well?

Hi,

The caboose is reported as steel, wide visin cupola, RDG? #?/L&R 10327. Is it ex-Reading? What was its pre-Lycoming & Reading number?

In the thread, there's no mention of a second caboose at this site but one has been reported - PRR #?, Class N5. Is this caboose still at this site? If yes, what is the PRR, PC, &/or CR number?

Thanks, Roger

Hi all,
I was there a month ago, the RR car that has it's windows broken out is the CNJ coach No. 98, The only caboose that's there is the Lycoming & Reading . Here is video I took that day.
Hope that helps,
Len.
