One has the usual mixed feelings about this. Chinese occupation of Tibet remains an outrage, but the building of railways so high is of interest.

I'm not entirely convinced Tibet is much of a concern over here in the US, in general people (who are not political junkies) pretty much assume Tibet is part of China, and that may very well be the official US line nowadays.
Also, with the large amount of ethnic Chinese immigration into Tibet over the years, is it possible that Chinese population > Tibetian? (I presume this was true of Hong Kong also, and that's now legally a part of China).

Tibet is till abit of a hot potatoin this part of the world , but i think there is a general acceptance that theres no way the chinese are leaving . The Dalai lama himself , is talking about meeting with the chinese .
