Respectfully, John, let's not go there just yet.

To be honest, I feel it should stay until they officially change the name. I feel it is disrespectful to change so quick, especially if the railroad has made no official announcement.

If it were one of my own family members, I would feel insulted to know that the local railfan community was already writing off this person who strongly helped the Livonia, Avon, and Lakeville become what it is now.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Kevin J. McGarvey. I can only hope that you're called for a train on the other side, with a LIRR high hood C420 numbered #200.

Respectfully yours,
Michael R. Walsh

The railroad community was shocked and saddened to learn of Kevin McGarvey's sudden passing this past Sunday. Funeral arrangements are being made in Livonia, New York. At this time, let us please allow both the McGarvey family and the railroad family time to mourn privately. At an appropriate time, we will all have a chance to add our sympathies and tributes.

Respectfully,
