On 12-07-2012 at 1210, D-3 acknowledged a transmission from PWBO that it didn't have enough power to get beyond Barber. PW 4005 was the leader, but any -- or even if there were any -- other units wasn't discussed, at least on the D-3 side of the conversation. At 1217, D-3 advised PWBO that PW power would be headed east to give some help, and at 1230, D-3 made G-320 from Burncoat to X-11 effective, so the help must have helped. Even though the area just east of Barber is still referred to as Summit and used to be a short pusher district, the Hill grade from the PW up towards Worcester Union Station is a lot more taxing. Mebbe the PW switcher also pushed its own train up its own Hill. It did seem a break with PW practice in over-powering PWBOs.
