Hello everybody,My name is Sophon. Somebody in Amtrak forum mentioned about Thai trains. Trains in Thailand is operated by SRT (State Railway of Thailand, a state-run enterprise ) on meter gauge tracks. I have some pictures to share with you, enjoy.
1. locomotive
1.1 General-Electric UM12C 1320HP
These loco are workhorse of SRT for 40 years on many duties. Unfortunately SRT had to scrap a few off active duty roster due to grade crossing incident damage (I always have loco no. 4046 in my mind he died a fiery death in the line of duty hauling oil train.)
1.2 Alsthom (now Alstom) AD2400i 2400HP
1.3 Hitachi (model name unkown) 2900HP (some were derated to 2250HP)
I've seen loco of this type act like old C**-8(thick black smoke out of stack) *ouch*
1.4 GE Cm22-7i 2250HP
Loco No. 4535 Got badly wrecked in a grade crossing incident with a big rig. The guys and gals at Makkasan Shop poured a lot of TLC into her, but she has a scar left for her life: Bent carbody. Thai railfan calls her "hunchback"
2. Diesel Railcar
2.1 tokyusharyo-Nipponsharyo-Hitachi 235HP
2.2 British Rail Engineering (BREL) Class 158 "Sprinter"
2.3 Daewoo Heavy Industry Air-conditoned diesel railcar
