Hello everybody,My name is Sophon. Somebody in Amtrak forum mentioned about Thai trains. Trains in Thailand is operated by SRT (State Railway of Thailand, a state-run enterprise ) on meter gauge tracks. I have some pictures to share with you, enjoy.

1. locomotive
1.1 General-Electric UM12C 1320HP

These loco are workhorse of SRT for 40 years on many duties. Unfortunately SRT had to scrap a few off active duty roster due to grade crossing incident damage (I always have loco no. 4046 in my mind he died a fiery death in the line of duty hauling oil train.) :(

1.2 Alsthom (now Alstom) AD2400i 2400HP

1.3 Hitachi (model name unkown) 2900HP (some were derated to 2250HP)

I've seen loco of this type act like old C**-8(thick black smoke out of stack) *ouch*

Loco No. 4535 Got badly wrecked in a grade crossing incident with a big rig. The guys and gals at Makkasan Shop poured a lot of TLC into her, but she has a scar left for her life: Bent carbody. Thai railfan calls her "hunchback"
