I'm not sure I like the idea of eliminating the Springfield Shuttles. I would have to see that the replacement equipment would be comparably comfortable and offer the same "across the platform" ease of transfer.

SPG should have enough tracks to accomodate both.

I'm happy to see progress though. I really like the idea of a Bradley Bus, I feel this is something that they should do now.

Interesting report. I went to one of the public hearings several years back when I still lived in Hartford. It would be great if this project was launched.

The section addressing current Amtrak ridership is interesting. If I'm reading this report right, the CDOT projections for the corridor only included commuter ridership, without addressing the current Amtrak service, which it seems would be replaced under the "maximum build" scenario.

My brother rides the corridor from HFD - NHV once a week to visit a friend, and he's benefited from Amtrak lowering those fares.. I remember in the late 90's it used to cost nearly double what they are currently charging.
