NETransit lists 1009 as back in service. Is she really fully repaired and back out there? Wasn't expecting her to be ready so soon.

Yes, a couple of weeks now.

It's ben awhile since anybody talked about this.

What is the current status of the F40PH-2C/F40PHM-2C windshield replacement that all of these locos were supposed to get? Has this been forgotten by the MBTA?

MBB Coach 532 was placed for pickup Wednesday at 3rd Avenue/Somerville.
Headed to East Deerfield for some sort of training exercise.

LA-2 picked it up and they went back to Lawrence via Reading last night.

This morning, the old equipment that occupied the Paint Track along the Fitchburg Route in Somerville was moved over by the RDC's at FX. Not too sure exactly why this move occurred.

Satellite image of the equipment in question at its now former place of residence: https://maps.google.com/?ll=42.376394,- ... 2&t=h&z=19

Green Line to Union Square construction was the reasoning for the move.

These are the five cars moved Saturday to FX, where the RDC's are:

MBTX 51 - an ex-Amtrak/DODX/USAX 6-wheel flatcar (painted yellow)

Ex-Amtrak 15716 six-wheel flatcar (Ex-DODX/USAF 39186) (This car
was never renumbered or repainted to T MW yellow.

Ex-B&M/ACFX 2721 Tank car built circa 1929. (A refugee from old BET)

Ex-B&M Milk car 1930 (another refugee from old BET)

An unidentified 2-Bay hopper either MBTA W308:1 or W309 of possible
PRR origin.

As to the fate of these cars, its unknown, but likely will be scrapped at some
point.

And here I thought that the MBTA was using that track to conduct an experiment in rot :-)

So what other pieces of rotting flotsam are they looking to get rid of now that they've got an excuse to do some long overdue housecleaning?

Some stuff got "transferred" to the Mass Coastal over the
last two years including MBTX 21(oddball ex-Amtrak sidedump), a couple
of ballast hoppers, at least one ex-DODX flatcar. Recently, one of the
ex-Amtrak MHC boxcar and a 40ft B&M boxcar were sent down there.
And lets not forget the two ex-CN snowplows they never used sent to Hyannis
a few years ago.

There may be a few more unloved ex-DODX flats scattered around. The ex-MP
caboose rots away in Yard 14 along with the other 40ft B&M boxcar.

You could make one ghetto as all get out photo freight with the stuff you just listed between your last two posts. Bring up a couple of stored Amtrak P40s for smoky effect too. There ya go.
