Good Afternoon,
I am doing some research on passenger rail utilization in Maine and New Hampshire and am specifically focusing on B&M's Western Route between 1945-1965 and Maine Central's Passenger service between Portland and Brunswick between 1945-1960. I am particularly interested in figures for the era between September 1, 1961 and the end of service to Portland in 1965 (exact date unknown).
I have contacted the Boston & Maine RRHS and they have been very helpful but to date have indicated that statistics most likely can only come from discontinuance petitions. I am in need of a report name or description which would be indexed that might contain passenger ridership statistics. This information will help guide my requests to the B&M RRHS archives.
