I assume any mentions of Metro-North are removed from these vehicles before they're sold, for security reasons?

I'm a bit shady about buying vehicles from a government or police auction. The vehicles are often beat-up and not high quality.

Another reason is this:

Several years ago in the news someone bought a used police car from a police auction. Only to find out that there was cocaine in the vehicle.
