A quote from the BNSF "On Guard" program:
"BNSF recognizes there are many railroad enthusiasts throughout the system who can be helpful in reporting security violations and suspicious activities. Next year, BNSF will launch a new program similar to the internal BNSF ON GUARD program to gain rail fan support as another layer in rail transportation security. More details of the program will be released in the future."
Looks like instead of treating us as a foe, they would rather have us as a friend. Will have to see how that works out. I wonder if something similar has even entered the heads of SEPTA execs...

Septa ought to consider its' passengers as friends first........

I've never had a problem with SEPTA? No one's ever chased me out of a station, carbarn, or off a street corner. For as inept as SEPTA is as a transit operator, I've never encountered a problem with their police or supervisors. They seem downright FRIENDLY towards fans.

Generally, that's still the case. They have, however, been a little heavy-handed at 69th Street Terminal and Frankford Transportation Center lately, not to mention at the three Center City rail stations. To clarify, they've chased off a few friends over the past year for taking pictures or writing down vehicle info, but not detained them or confiscated any film or photos....nothing like that.

I'm glad I got some video at Market East back in summer of 2000....
