Te PRR's PY&A roundhouse still stands in Ashtabula, Ohio. Turntable is gone and the roundhouse is part of a scrapyard.

Ex LIRR turntables:

Morris Park, NY (Still in use!)
Oyster Bay, NY (2 - 1 is a 1/4 turn. Neither useable)

I think there's another on LI somewhere. The MP one is neat cause they use it to get DE/DM units into the roundhouse. I've heard they occasionally spin MUs on it too.

Does it have to be turntables? How about transfer tables?

If so, add Amtrak's Wilmington facility.

Active today, with quite a few transfer tracks.

I believe this is also the same place where the GG1 was born and first tested.

You can get a great view of the place on Amtrak going north from Aberdeen, MD and points south. Amtrak's Wilmington facility is south of the Wilmington Station.

First tested on Wilmington's test track and built in Altoona.

Does anyone know anything about the PRR roundhouse in Crestline, OH. The website mentions that the feasibility study was recently released. Has anyone read it?

What has kept the Crestline roundhouse intact in its full shape?
Many parts of roundhouses were removed when they were not needed, especially when the diesels took over.

Here's a great link to an updated history of the Crestline roundhouse. Looks like "going to the dogs" may have saved it. :)
