Died last week at age 95. He was in engine service on the NYC, PC, and Conrail on the Hudson Division and Metropolitan Region. Was Road Foreman and Division RFE HQ'd at GCT and 466 Lexington Ave. When MN was formed, he was bypassed and exercised rights as an Engr. taking one side of Amtrak 69 / 68 GCT to Schenectady. (Henry Christopher held the other side of this couplet.)

In conversations with Bob when I was on the Mohawk-Hudson, he laughed that the Mets really "hurt" him by not hiring him as he went from salary and on call 24/7 to 160-miles plus 2 engine changes each day, with every other day off!!! What a way to finish a 40+year career.

Bob's brothers Carl and Ted were also on the railroad; Carl as Engr. and Ted as Trainman.

A great railroader and a perfect gentleman. I remember him well. I got this sad news about three hours earlier.
