Question:

Are RIX HO Scale overpasses one lane wide or two lanes wide?

I was browsing thier site. The wrought iron model shows two cars passing each other, but the modern and old style overpasses only show one truck.

Wrought Iron:

Early:

Modern:

I was wondering if maybe they put an HO truck on an N-scale model or vice versa for the wrought iron.

I need to know as I am planning on putting in an overpass and these products, (particularly the modern and old styles) fit the era I am modelling.

If anyone has used these products please post!

Thanks!

RIX overpasses will allow two HO scale vehicles to pass in opposite directions. In otherwords, a two-lane highway. For wider roadways, it's a simple matter to add another bridge.

Here's a picture from a few years ago... yes, the Rochester city bus can safely pass other HO scale vehicles on the same span.

Another trick I like to do- take the Atlas 9" girder bridge, flip it over, add a new styrene deck and the RIX concrete railings.

Otto is correct, you can fit 2 vehicles on them, they are 2 lanes.
Using styrene, you can make them as wide as you want really, just add in the deck support and outer railings. When finished, they are very nice kits.

How high are they with the support, form the table top?

i was building catenary, and it looks liek its high enough to get over the wires, so i was just curious. my bachmann E-60CP limits the heigh t i can have the wire, so the wire couldn't be to much higher anyway.

You can adjust the height when you build them. You can move the circular pillars, adjusting the height to anything you need (up to a point) but I am sure you can clear a HO Scale 25ft.
