I've heard rumors both Newburgh Junction Tower (NJ Tower) and Niobe Junction Tower (NE Tower) still have remains. The retaining walls at Niobe Junction did stand after an arsonist took out the building (at least the wooden part) in the 80s? (I know it was standing in 77). Rumors have that NE's concrete walls are gone. Anyone know that can fill me in? As for NJ, when the tower went on automatic, the railroad went ahead and demolished the building. I've heard rumors that concrete blocks from the structure itself litter the area of the junction. Anyone know?

Thanks to anyone who can fill me in.

I know the machine WAS saved out of NE after the arson fire - but it is currently disassembled long-term for restoration.

Yeah I got a lot of details on NE after the thread was posted. XD - It burned Nov 1, 1988 and the NE Tower machinery is now based in Industry undergoing restoration. Its NJ I need more details if that rumor is true.

The machine from NE is currently under restoration at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum.
