On October 7 at around 7PM, there was a stationary MFSE trainset on the eastbound (direction north) tracks at Harrison Street and Frankford Avenue (@ Frankford Hospital), a few blocks south of FTC. The exterior destination signs indicated "not in service", and the passenger compartment lights were off. The train sat there from the point when I could see it several blocks east on Harrison Street, until it went out of sight in my rear view mirror two block west. I saw no other trains pass by during this interval.

Does anybody know what was happening? If this was simply a train wainting to clear into the yard, does it normally take this long every day?

I'm pretty sure I saw that same train go through 13th St. between 5.45 and 6 PM. Signs "not in service", interior dark.

Most likely, it was a disabled train that was taken out of service. That's happened from time to time, but that would be my guess...
