I think its difficult to compare schedules for SEPTA and Amtrak. Sometimes pulling into Paoli early is a blessing because it allows for a little time for passenger boarding/discharge. The NEC schedule, however, is fairly tight based solely on personal observation, for Amtrak trains. They are not making local stops. SEPTA's RRD scheduling could definitely use some tweaking (actually a lot of it :-D ), but slippery rail, weather conditions, boarding from low level platforms, people with excessive luggage, all of these things can easily set a SEPTA local behind schedule.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who goes "Huh?" when I hear SEPTA brass define "average frequencies".

Only on SEPTA can a bus or train leaving on a frequency of :05, :10, :35, and :40 be defined as "half-hourly" service.....
