A bit off the beaten path for those prioritzing Western Europe or the Alps, but the rail operations in Poland are actually very interesting and diverse. From Baltic seaside in the north to the Tatra Mountains in the south.

Many historic stations have been attractively renovated and lots of new passenger fleets are being introduced, including brand-new Intercity Express locomotives known as "Griffins" and also plenty of fast railcars.

The following two clips give a good sampling of Polish railways and trains, one in the North, the other in the South.
